Giving the kids a night out and parents a night off to collect donations for local shelters
CARE Hosts a Movie Night
Club for Animal Rights and Education hosted a movie night for the lower school students of the MICDS Beasley school to bring in donations of old towels, t-shirts, and pet supplies for the Animal Protective Association of Missouri. The children enjoyed a night of fun with drawing, games, and a spectacular showing of the The Secret Life of Pets 2. In total, CARE collected 127 items, valuing over $450! Thank you so much for the gracious contributions from the CARE members, parents, students, and MICDS faculty and staff. Also, thank you to our CARE volunteers from the branches of MICDS, Ladue, Clayton, and Parkway West for making this night possible!
Why a Movie Night for the Lower Schoolers?
"I think the love for animals is very evident in young kids, and if in anyway possible, we can foster that passion into responsibility, CARE will strive to do just that.
Kids need to be given the opportunity to give back to learn how to implement it into their daily lives. Returning that love that animals give to us through donations deepens the empathy for things greater than ourselves. At the end of the day, seeing the kids smiling because they knew they just gave back to a pet in need was incredible. " - Co-head Gretel Wurdack '21
