Bob Baker Speaks about Animal Welfare and Legislation

CARE partners up with California club, Action for Animals, to learn about animal welfare along with the organization’s local branches (Ladue, Clayton, MICDS, and Marquette)

CARE Members Learn About Animal Welfare Legislation from Mr. Baker

Mr. Baker explained his experience working with state lawmakers to uphold legislations that support animal welfare. He addressed the prominent issues of puppy mills and hoarder situations and how he became involved in the legal sector of animal welfare. Further into his presentation, he advised our students on proper techniques when writing to legislators, which we address in our Writing to Legislators post.

Writing to Legislators

All the members were given 30 minutes to write to legislators and make a difference in the animal welfare world. Mr. Baker aided in explaining the best strategies to create effective change. CARE and Action for Animals learned who to write to in office and how to thank supporters of pro-animal legislation. If you are looking for more specifics, a separate blog post on how to write to legislators will be published soon!
